Acupuncture
Acupuncture is based on the principle that
there are energetic pathways, or channels, throughout the body that influence
associated internal organs and structures. Energy from these pathways surfaces
at various points on the body, identified as acupuncture points. Each of these
acupuncture points serves as a tunnel, or access route, to the deeper
circulatory channels within. Extremely fine gauge needles are inserted at
selected points, stimulating these points and thereby activating the body’s
natural healing abilities. Our acupuncturist is National Certification
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) certified in both
acupuncture and Chinese herbology.
What can I expect?
Each appointment lasts approximately one hour. To begin a treatment, your practitioner will decide where to place the needles. This decision will be based on your constitution and your main complaint. Each treatment is highly customized for you and your specific health concern. Each time you receive a treatment, the points may or may not vary.
Who can this help?
The National Institutes of Health and World Health Organization recognize that acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are effective in treating and alleviating dozens of health conditions. These vary from arthritis, neuropathy and muscle disorders to infections and organ dysfunction. Consult our acupuncturist to see how it can help you.
