Kinesiotape
Kinesiotaping is a technique based on
the body’s own natural healing process. Kinesiotaping gives support and
stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of
motion.
What can I expect?
Your kinesiotape certified provider will apply the tape to the problem area directly on the skin. Placing the tape can last between 5-15 minutes depending on the nature of the problem. The tape will last between 3-4 days and is shower safe. The tape provides support to the injured area throughout the day.
Who can this help?
Kinesiotape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions. It is a therapeutic taping technique that provides support and also rehabilitates the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system it alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
